New Delhi: Indian Railway Board Chairperson Jaya Verma Sinha has outlined five key priorities for the transformation of the Indian Railways, to all employees.
In her first official communication since taking office on September 1, Sinha emphasised the importance of safety, integrity, capacity augmentation, revenue generation, and customer amenities and experience. Sinha referred to these priorities as “Indian Railways’ Panch Pran” and stressed the significance of each.
Regarding safety, she asserted, “We must recognise that every accident can be prevented, and it is incumbent upon us to ensure strict adherence to established safety protocols.”
She also highlighted the necessity for integrity among public servants and a zero-tolerance approach towards misconduct. “We shall continue to enhance transparency in our process,” she said.
On the topic of capacity augmentation, Sinha acknowledged the investment of Rs 2.4 lakh crore made by the government in the current fiscal year and urged that projects should be executed efficiently to benefit customers.
